  • Planning and forecasting:
  • The Development Project manager is accountable to provide the owner with a wide range of development concepts in Assess and the best option to fit the agreed selection criteria in Select based on clearly defined and communicated Project Drivers and Trade-Offs. He/She delivers a Field Development Plan (FDP) to support the business case according to the Project Initiation Note (PIN) or Project Charter (PC) and Project Assurance Plan (PAP). He/She will comply with the Hydrocarbon Development Process (C.2.) and the functional requirements
  • The main role is to identify, manage and transparently communicate key technical uncertainties, with specific focus on the subsurface to allow balanced and informed decision making
  • Visibly promotes the HSSE vision, policies and the associated Management System. Together with Project HSSE, He/She ensures the implementation of project relevant HSSE requirements applying ALARP (i.e. process safety, environmental impact, health, personal safety, security, etc.). He/She ensures that each team member contributes towards achieving ZERO Harm NO Losses and that the 8 Golden Rules are followed as a minimum
  • He/She focuses on technical decisions to be made by the project owner throughout the project maturation, based on predefined success criteria, associated tradeoffs and functional requirements. Decisions will be recorded appropriately, follow the Management of Change (MoC) process. He/She sets the priorities and focuses for the development team accordingly
  • The development project manager provides support for the governance bodies (project owners and steering committee members) and escalates relevant issues, key risks and uncertainties at least on a monthly basis
  • Planning of the subsurface part of new field re-development projects (TG0-2)
  • Provision of reserves and production forecasts, sensitivities and risk evaluations for projects economic evaluations
  • Providing calibrated simulation models from special history matching techniques
  • Drive projects towards results within expected time, quality and budget
  • Planning of annual pressure surveys, data acquisition requirements, well testing, production logging plus field implementation of projects and activities
  • Provision of well & reservoir parameters, subsurface target location & tolerance, well path and well completion design specifications for well planning and construction
  • Ensure wells and projects are implemented in accordance to plan and specifications
  • Provision of production forecasts, sensitivities and risk evaluations for projects economic evaluations
  • Post implementation production monitoring and analysis to verify compliance with forecast
  • Plan and directs the routine surveillance of wells (producers and injectors) in assigned fields and participates in the monitoring of relevant production data to identify production stimulation and optimization opportunities


  • University degree in Engineering, preferably in Petroleum Engineering, or any other related discipline
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant Petroleum Engineering & operational experience with field development planning experience
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Ability to evaluate asset development opportunities by integrating geology, geophysics, petrophysics, reservoir, well & production facility data
  • Strong analytical approach to solving complex technical problems in a multi-disciplined environment
  • Sound knowledge of and experience in gas, oil & heavy-oil reservoir and production engineering
  • Excellent reporting and presentation skills with the ability to multi-task effectively and meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work within a cross-functional multi-cultural team to perform detailed subsurface assessments, generate reservoir development & management plans, generate proposals and perform risk & economic evaluations
  • Proficient in the use of the industry standard petroleum engineering tools including PETEX suite, PanSystem and / or Saphir, Petrel, Eclipse, etc.
  • Extensive exposure to petroleum engineering activities, ranging from exploration support and field development planning through to well planning and operations
  • Familiarity with the local petroleum regulatory environment
