Responsibilities

They will work on delivery of projects, carry out improvements and provide support on a highly regulated clearing system
May be require to provide O/N support on rare occasions
Developing on a highly critical platform that is systemic to the financial markets (equivalence of a nuclear plant)
Individual must be well-adapted in adhering to the company standards in development, testing and change governance
They will coordinate with business users and other technology areas
Chip in towards design solutions that can sustain our high computation and low latency business requirements
Work alongside quants, business analysis, and product owners to drive the right solution
Help drive our agile philosophy
Accountable for project delivery from inception to production, including budget, timelines and technical debt

Desired skills

10+ years of proven experience in hands-on commercial software development
Agile/Scrum development practices and principles focusing on writing high-performance, clean, quality code
Accustom to leading technical delivery within 1 or more project teams
Ability to lead and mentor less experienced members of the project team
Architecture, design, and implementation ownership
Performance tuning
Exposure to all aspects of software development and the project life cycle
Champion automation, maturing CI/CD pipelines, technology adoption, and agile practices

Desirable skills

Java 11+
Spring Boot
JMS message API
Understanding of the SDLC, Object Oriented and Functional Programming
Linux, shell script and scripting languages such as
Architectural and Design patterns of distributed systems
Exposure to TDD/BDD e.g. Cucumber
Use of Spring Cloud ecosystem
Hibernate, JPA, Oracle, REST
Excellent communication and collaboration using both verbal and written skills
Development of maintenance procedures and processes for CI/CD processes to remove key person dependencies
Ability to collaborate with others to find the best way to resolve a technological, infrastructure, security or development issue
Build resilient, robust and secure solutions which are easy and efficient to evolve with new technologies over time
