Responsibilities
Operate and manufacture components from technical drawings using a variety of materials
Program, operate, and maintain 3-axis CNC lathes/milling machines, ensuring production targets and schedules are met
Manufacture both custom one-off product parts and batch stock
Utilize expertise in tooling, cutting edges, and measurement tools
Use software like Fusion 360, CAD, and similar, with the ability to interpret and draw technical designs
Work independently, solving machining issues and demonstrating initiative
Reliable, trustworthy, and efficient with proven experience in a similar role
Requirements
Minimum 4 years Technical Drawing and CNC Programming skills required.

Experience with Fusion 360 / CAM software / SolidWorks

CNC Machine Operator

Responsibilities
Planning machining operations by studying work orders, sketches, engineering drawings, materials and orthographic drawings
Act as an essential liaison between engineers, production managers and structural detailers to ensure effective communication
Manage inventory by checking stock on hand, anticipating material requirements and placing orders
Program laser cutting machines (section and plate lasers) by entering instructions, including zero and reference points
Set up lathes and mills by installing and adjusting three and four jaw chucks, tooling and accessories
Load the feed mechanism by positioning the required material
Verifies settings and specifications by measuring positions, parts produced and sample parts.
Ensures desired specifications by observing drilling, milling, cutting operations, including turning, facing, threading, and threading operations
Ensures safety of operations by following safety procedures and regulations.
Maintains equipment by performing preventive maintenance and completing maintenance requirements
Ensures continuity between shifts by documenting and communicating actions taken.
Documents operations performed by completing production and quality logs.
Troubleshoots equipment when necessary, having a critical thinking in addressing problems
Requirements
Minimum of 4-5 years of experience as a CNC Operator or similar
Familiarity with equipment used (tube laser cutters / plate laser cutters / section laser cutters), ideally Morgan Rushmore range
Profile and plate laser cutting experience, with the ability to handle diameters from 20mm to 450mm and plates up to 4m x 2m, with tolerances to 0.03mm.
Advanced CNC machine programming skills, including laser operations
Solid lathe and mill set-up skills, with experience of using various types of chucks and accessories
Attention to detail in checking settings and specifications of parts produced
Skills in preventive maintenance of equipment and ability to follow safety procedures
Effective communication skills to ensure continuity of activities between shifts
Knowledge of documenting activities and completing production and quality logs
Troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to solve technical problems that may arise during operations
